Großräschen (dpa / bb) - The police stopped a suspected smuggling of people at a rest stop on federal motorway 13 near Großräschen (Oberspreewald-Lausitz).
She discovered four men in a truck on Wednesday evening.
Previously, the local rescue control center had heard noises from the tractor-trailer and a broken seal, as the police announced on Thursday.
The men between the ages of 23 and 35 are therefore Afghans.
They were reportedly uninjured, but were examined by a doctor and then taken to a police station.
The 36-year-old driver from Romania was arrested but was later released.
Investigations into suspected human smuggling and illegal entry have been launched and are ongoing.
