The special groups within the police that were appointed to investigate sexual crimes against children online receive scathing criticism in their own internal report, which SVT's program Veckans Brott was the first to tell.

Reports are piled up and most investigations are closed without any investigative action.

- The reason why investigations like this take a long time is because it is incredibly extensive material that we go through. We work to identify new plaintiffs and look at abusive material to then find plaintiffs and people who are affected by this. And that is what takes time, says Lottie Hedenborg, group chief of the Bergslagen police region.
