Crivitz (dpa / mv) - After a fire in an attic apartment in Crivitz (Ludwigslust-Parchim district), rescue workers have rescued a dead person.

Whether it is the tenant of the apartment could not be determined without a doubt until early Thursday morning - the woman remained missing, however, as the police announced.

In the course of the extinguishing work, two firefighters were also injured - one was taken to hospital on suspicion of smoke gas poisoning.

The fire broke out in the attic apartment late Wednesday evening. The cause of the fire initially remained unclear - the criminal police began investigations into suspected arson. Almost 100 emergency services were busy extinguishing the flames for several hours. The four other apartments in the apartment building had to be evacuated - the residents were taken to an emergency shelter.
