There was a small break in the scheduled days at Skebäcksgården on Thursday morning.

Nurse Tomas Jansson picked up Marianne after coffee time to give her the second injection of covid vaccine.

The sting became undramatic, just like last time.

- So far I have not had any discomfort, but I think it is only nice that you can get it, she says.

At Skebäcksgården, none of the residents have refused the vaccine, however, there are some who for other reasons have not been able to take the syringes.

- It can be about allergies or other causes and it is about a handful of people, says Tomas.

No immediate change

At present, today's injection does not change much for the residents.

The full effect of the vaccine does not occur until two weeks after the second injection, the pandemic continues to rage outside the walls and visits are still surrounded by rules of conduct.

- One hopes perhaps that it will ease a little on all recommendations and that one will not have to be so afraid to meet relatives, says Marianne.

The care staff will soon be in line to receive the covid vaccine.

Tomas himself can imagine putting up with vaccination when it is the public's turn.

- This is the most important thing I have done during my career so far, he says.

Back to everyday life

For Marianne, it was a brusque return to the daily schedule after the adventure with the syringe.

A workout session with the others was waiting at Skebäcksgården before lunch.

- They drive with us here, but it's great, says Marianne Frantzén.
