At the reception of the hotel that received those who became homeless due to the fire, the atmosphere is tense.

One of those who was driven here last night is Linus Sjöstrand who has lived in the fire-affected house for two and a half years.

He's shaken, mainly because it went so fast.

- I was falling asleep and then it started to howl, he tells SVT Nyheter Småland.

"I'm glad everyone made it"

Even though Linus did not take the fire alarm seriously in the first position, he had no problem getting out via the fire escape.

But two people who were still in the building when the rescue service arrived at the scene had to be picked up with the help of smoke divers.

An ambulance took care of them while the others had to wait outside until the municipality got a bus that took them to the hotel.

Linus has not slept much and does not know if he will be able to do it either.

- We are all pretty shaken but I'm glad that everyone made it, says Linus.

Unclear future

The message he received is that he can stay at the hotel for two nights, but what happens next is unclear.

- Then they will probably try to fix something more long-term, but it is difficult now in corona times, Linus says to SVT Nyheter Småland.
