Leipzig (AP) - The Bundesliga handball players of the SC DHfK Leipzig did not get past a 24:24 (12:10) against the second division EHV Aue in their first test match in the new year.

Without the World Cup participants Philipp Weber (Germany), Maciej Gebala (Poland), Alen Milosevic (Switzerland), Marko Mamic (Croatia) and Kristian Saeveras (Norway), the Leipzigers still lacked the power of attack.

However, coach André Haber agreed that two players, Luca Witzke and Bastian Roscheck, were celebrating their comeback after long injury breaks.

On Sunday the SC DHfK competes in a preparatory tournament in Dessau.

At 11.00 a.m., the people of Leipzig initially have to deal with the hosting second division team Dessau-Roßlauer HV.

Opponents in the second game are either Bundesliga rivals TBV Lemgo or the Ukrainian team HC Motor Zaporozhye.
