Investigations for embezzlement

The facts reported by the press to which Caloia refers are those relating to the investigation opened in the Vatican on the sale of properties belonging to the Institute in via della Conciliazione.

A sale that would have been decided by the former president Angelo Caloia and by the former general manager Lelio Scaletti, against whom a file for embezzlement was opened.

On their accounts and those of the lawyer Gabriele Liuzzo, 16.8 million euros would have been seized.
