Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - After a cellar fire in an apartment house in the Mainz-Kastel district of Wiesbaden, 40 apartments were evacuated as a precaution.
Despite the very heavy smoke development, nobody was injured, as the fire brigade announced on Thursday.
The helpers were on site particularly quickly: The Wiesbaden fire station 2 is only a few hundred meters away from the site.
"That is why the fire in the electrical distribution system in a workshop was quickly extinguished with a fire extinguisher."
The caretaker had noticed the flames earlier that afternoon and raised the alarm.
