Hamburg (dpa / lno) - A fake craftsman has stolen a lot of money from older senior women in Hamburg in at least six cases in the past few months.
The 51-year-old man is said to have tricked the ladies into believing that he had to control the heating in their apartments, said a police spokesman on Thursday in Hamburg.
In the apartments of the 80 to 90-year-old women he finally put the cash in an unobserved moment.
In the already known six cases in the districts of Wandsbek, Steilshoop and Barmbek, he is said to have stolen a total of more than 10,000 euros.
Through intensive investigations, the police had the man in their sights and were able to stop and temporarily arrest him on Tuesday immediately after two visits to Hamburg-Wandsbek.
According to the information, the money stolen from the two apartments was found in his pockets.
The man is now in jail and will probably have to answer for the trick theft in court.
