Everything indicates that the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, which in March 2020 upgraded the AfD wing around Björn Höcke to “secured right-wing extremist aspirations”, has announced a new assessment of the party as a whole.

There can be strong reasons for an observation if a growing influence of the wing in the AfD can be proven.
The Federal Office assesses the official dissolution of the wing as a deception: structures continue to exist, supporters are still active.
Another argument in favor of observation is when important non-wingers accept right-wing extremism in the party.
As happened the other day at a joint appearance by Höcke and a leading figure of the less radical camp around party leader Jörg Meuthen.
