Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - According to the Ministry of Health, around 350,000 people in North Rhine-Westphalia have so far been vaccinated against the corona virus.

This week alone, the number of first vaccinations has risen by 67,000, and around 30,000 more administrations will be added by the end of this week, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday.

In the end, delivery bottlenecks meant that the vaccination campaign did not progress as quickly as expected.

The vaccinations in North Rhine-Westphalia started shortly after Christmas.

First it was nursing homes and hospital staff who had direct contact with Covid-19 patients.

In the meantime, the authorizations have been expanded a little.

There is usually about four weeks between the first and second vaccination.
