Greifswald (dpa / mv) - People who are entitled to a Covid-19 vaccination can, under certain circumstances, have their travel to the vaccination center reimbursed by their health insurance company.

The district of Vorpommern-Greifswald has pointed this out.

For example, certain people in need of care or severely disabled people could have their costs reimbursed, it said in a statement on Wednesday.

For privately insured persons it depends on the respective tariff.

The insured should consult with their insurance company.

A place of residence far away from the vaccination center and an age over 80 years as well as previous illnesses alone were not sufficient for reimbursement of travel costs. In such cases, the district recommended that family or neighborly help be used. Efforts are currently being made to find more vaccination contact points so that the routes could be shortened.
