The handball players from Metz lost Wednesday night in Budapest against the Hungarians of Ferencvaros 32 to 30, in a late match of the third day of the group stage of the Champions League.

The players of Emmanuel Mayonnade retain second place in their group with 12 points (six wins, three losses), three units from the Russians of Rostov, but see Ferencvaros return to equality, with however one more match disputed by the Hungarians ( 10 against 9) compared to the Messines.

The two clubs will meet in the Arènes de Metz on Sunday for the 12th day of the C1.

The first two of the group qualify directly for the quarter-finals of the competition, while the teams classified from 3rd to 6th place must go through a jump-off.
