Potsdam (dpa / bb) - Despite the tough lockdown, the daycare centers in Brandenburg are to remain open in principle and the final classes in the schools should continue to study face-to-face for their exams.

"We plan - subject to the cabinet decision - to continue to give privileges," said the spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education, Ulrike Grönefeld, on Wednesday when asked.

"And we intend to leave the daycare centers open as usual - subject to tomorrow's cabinet decision."

To protect against the corona pandemic, the test strategy for teachers is to be continued.

However, the ministry appeals to parents to look after their children at home if possible. If the number of new corona infections rises to over 300 per 100,000 inhabitants within a week in a district or in an independent city, the daycare centers must be closed, the ministry said. This decision has so far been left to the municipalities.
