Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The head of the green parliamentary group, Bernhard Braun, has criticized the prices of many stations for electric cars.

"Some gas stations take 70 cents per kilowatt-hour or more - and then there are the parking fees," criticized the Green politician in an interview with the German Press Agency in Mainz.

"You can't burden people with excessive prices just because they need electricity for their cars."

The solar obligation for new buildings demanded by the Greens makes it possible to charge the car directly in front of the door for 35 cents "and to avoid the arbitrary pricing of some petrol stations".

The Rhineland-Palatinate government has also announced funding for wall charging stations for electric cars, provided they are connected to a photovoltaic system. Private households, businesses or municipalities can receive a bonus of 500 euros per system. That is about a third of the cost. The new funding extends the solar storage program introduced in 2019 and provides an additional four million euros for this; in total there are then nine million.
