Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The trade association in the southwest is calling for the announced corrections to be implemented quickly in the bridging aid.

"Many dealers have their backs against the wall and need reliable commitments and rapid government support," said General Manager Sabine Hagmann on Wednesday.

"Otherwise there will be a mass death in the retail sector in Baden-Württemberg."

They are "very happy and very grateful" about the improvements in the bridging aid, which they have repeatedly insisted on.

Now clarity about open questions must be created as soon as possible and the improvements implemented so that the troubled traders get their money, she said.

The federal government improves the aid after severe criticism from the economy.

According to Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD), they should be “simpler, more extensive and more targeted”.

The craft day also appealed on Wednesday to pay out the announced aid to the affected companies as soon as possible.

Hagmann also welcomed the fact that a federal and state working group should develop a concept for an opening strategy after the lockdown, which was initially extended once again.

The apparent lack of strategy of the measures is draining acceptance in large parts of society and companies, she said.

"Citizens and entrepreneurs not only have to understand the measures, they also need predictability and reliability."
