Munich (dpa / lby) - With an app, the White Rose Foundation wants to educate about the resistance group of the same name around the siblings Hans and Sophie Scholl.

In four virtual tours, visitors could understand the formation of the Circle of Friends and its path into the resistance, the foundation announced on Wednesday in Munich.

Cooperation partner for «White Rose.

The app »is the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU), where a memorial for the resistance fighters was set up.

With the app developed by two teacher training students, the foundation also wants to counter appropriation by right-wing circles or corona deniers.

"We distance ourselves from that," said press spokeswoman Andrea Brill.

The foundation therefore relies on education.

This digital possibility of information is all the more important as the memorial is currently closed due to the corona lockdown.

In fact, the app also provides plenty of information virtually.

Here you can read the leaflets in which the friends criticized the National Socialist regime from 1942 and called for resistance.

When the sixth leaflet was distributed in the atrium of the LMU, the Scholl siblings were arrested in February 1943 and later executed.

Others in the district were also arrested and murdered.

There is information on how the Circle of Friends came together and how a resistance group developed from it, as well as insights into the trial documents.

There are also many photos as well as documents and newspaper articles.
