Freiburg (AP) - The use of midfielder Baptiste Santamaria in the Bundesliga game of SC Freiburg against Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday (8.30 p.m. / Sky) is not completely excluded.
"He has strong muscles," said SC coach Christian Streich on Tuesday, "there is still a chance left, which is very gratifying."
The club had previously announced that the French professional footballer had sustained a capsule injury to his knee in the 1: 2 at Bayern Munich and would be out until further notice.
Amir Abrashi, on the other hand, will definitely not be available.
The midfielder came to Munich for the injured Santamaria, but was then substituted again.
He has to pause for the time being due to a bruise on his lower leg.
Midfielder Nicolas Höfler is missing due to his fifth yellow card.
Jonathan Schmid, who was out in the last two games due to muscle problems in his thigh, could potentially return to the squad.
"We have to think about everything in our current situation," said Streich.
With Amin Younes, the resurgent Filip Kostic and returnees Luka Jovic, Eintracht are currently "offensively certainly one of the best in the league," said the SC coach: "I would have preferred it at a different time."
