During a weekday night in December 2020, a fire broke out in a garbage room adjacent to Falkenberg's upper secondary school.

A man, who was later arrested after he allegedly broke into a patisserie, is now charged with suspicion of the crime.

- I have prosecuted a man for arson and unlawful intrusion and damage to the patisserie.

I think you can expect a conviction, says prosecutor Sonja Seligmann.

How does the man react to the criminal suspicions?

- He denies crime.

He does not really agree that he is the one who caused the fire, he has been in the city and been affected and does not really know what has happened, so you can summarize it, she says.

The man has during the preliminary investigation been detained on probable cause on suspicion of arson.

During the arrest, the police found flammable liquid on his clothes.

Falkenberg Municipality demands that the man pay SEK 236,500 in damages.

The hearing in Varberg District Court will be held in early February.
