January 19, 2021 Rome doesn't really have a good relationship with eagles.

After the defeat in the derby with Lazio, the Giallorossi come out of the Italian Cup at the hands of the Eaglets of Spezia.

In the eighth final of the Olympic Stadium the Ligurian whites beat 4-2 in extra time, at the end of a daring match: Spezia in the lead 2-0 after a quarter of an hour, Roma comeback leading to extra time, however, the hosts suffer two red cards, then collecting two more goals.

Plus another episode: Fonseca made six changes, including the one necessary to let a goalkeeper enter after the red card to Pau Lopez: he would have lost the game anyway.

Now the Italian team in the quarterfinals will face Napoli.

Fonseca changes half a team compared to the derby: in defense space for Kumbulla and Cristante, with Mancini disqualified in the league;

Bruno Peres on the right wing, while Pedro acts with Mkhitaryan behind Borja Mayoral.

Turnover also for the Italian who sends the 22-year-old Lithuanian Krapikas into the goal;

Sena and Deiola in the median, Galabinov, Agudelo and Saponara in attack.

Immediate opportunity for Borja Mayoral, but Spezia passes: a Cristante-Mancini clamp sends Maggiore to the ground, Galabinov realizes from the spot even if Paul Lopez guesses the corner (6 ').

In the quarter of an hour the eagles even double: Deiola recovers the ball, Galabinov pocketed for Saponara who first made the Giallorossi goalkeeper dry.

At 28 'Roma are seen, but Spinazzola's cross does not find anyone for the tap in.

At 38 'chance for the hosts but Krapikas rejects Pedro, then Borja Mayoral does not arrive on the invitation of Mkhitaryan.

At 42 'Ismajli fouls Pellegrini, for Ghersini it is a penalty that the Giallorossi midfielder himself transforms (43').

In the second half, Borja Mayoral still late on the assistance of Mkhitaryan (54 ').

At 67 'the Spanish striker wastes again, frustrating a pass from Pedro.

The pace is not already high, the swirl of changes slows it down even more.

Roma draw in the 73rd minute, when Borja Mayoral dresses as an assist man and propitiates the soft touch of Mkhitaryan to beat Krapikas.

At 86 'again Borja Mayoral wasted an opportunity face to face with the Spezia goalkeeper.

At 94 ', however, it is Pau Lopez who saves Roma on a turn by Piccoli.

Additional shocks for Roma.

At 91 'Mancini collects the second yellow card and leaves his team in ten.

On La Spezia's free-kick, Pau Lopez out of the area misses the ball and knocks Piccoli down, taking the direct red: Roma in nine and Fuzato between the posts instead of Cristante (Fonseca, however, also makes another change - Ibañez for Pedro - which is the sixth, i.e. a substitution not allowed).

At 97 'Saponara head puts over the crossbar.

At 101 'it is Maggiore who warms his hands to the new goalkeeper Fuzato, who saves himself great.

At the beginning of the second extra time, Spezia manages to move the ball well and finds the goal: wide ball to Saponara on the left, invitation to Dell'Orco for the cross that finds the head of the former Giallorossi Verde (107 ').

To seal the evening of La Spezia also the delicious lob of Saponara that at the last minute mocked Fuzato.
