Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Hamburg's police chief has little understanding that despite the high number of infections, people are still celebrating together or denying Corona.
"It makes me stunned that we still have to end parties with 30, 40 or 50 people and how many ignoramuses of the problem there are still," said Ralf Martin Meyer in an interview with the "Hamburger Abendblatt".
The police are currently looking particularly at these repeat offenders.
"Obviously, you have to work with sensitive fines here in order to achieve something."
The corona pandemic does not pose a major personnel shortage to the Hamburg police.
There were no many sporting and major events, the staff were instead on corona checks and demonstrations.
There were more of them in 2020 than in 2019, Meyer said.
“In the beginning, Corona was a topic that made you shake yourself a bit as a police officer.

At the same time, Corona reduced crime in the country.
