According to reports, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Khatibzad issued a statement saying that in addition to Trump and Pompeo, Iran’s sanctions include U.S. Treasury Secretary Mnuchin, former Secretary of Defense Esper, and acting defense Secretary Miller, CIA Director Haspel and Trump's former National Security Affairs Assistant Bolton.

In addition, Tehran’s blacklist also includes former U.S. special envoy Hooker on Iran and the current special envoy Abrams.

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the reason why Iran imposed sanctions on Trump and US officials was "the United States' terrorist acts in the Middle East, supporting terrorism, and creating threats to world security."

According to other reports, the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the State Department announced recently that Iran’s two large cross-industry organizations and industry organizations in the fields of aerospace, marine, and civil aviation were included in the sanctions list.

Iranian Foreign Minister Zarif said on the 18th that Iran does not seek tension and war, and the new sanctions imposed on Iran by the Trump administration in the final stage of his term will not affect the will of the Iranian people.

Relations between the United States and Iran have continued to be tense in recent years.

The United States unilaterally withdrew from the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue in May 2018, and subsequently restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.

In response, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of certain provisions of the Iran nuclear agreement since May 2019, but at the same time promised that the measures it has taken are reversible.
