A week after the murder of a teenager in Les Dervallières, the national police are stepping up their fight against drug trafficking which plagues certain working-class neighborhoods in Nantes.

Several excavation operations of cellars and common parts of buildings were thus carried out on Monday, often with the help of specialized dogs.

And these have given some results.

In Malakoff, 40 transparent capsules that could contain cannabis and nine small sachets containing cannabis resin were discovered in a backpack stashed in a technical sheath.

A scale and dozens of empty packaging bags were also found.

In Les Dervallières, an astonishing fully equipped cellar, equipped with a mechanical workshop, a sofa, a flat screen, a game console, a fridge and a shisha has been spotted, reports the police national.

Packaging bags

Excavations were also carried out in the Clos-Toreau district.

Many empty packaging bags with the green dollar logo were seized in a cellar, police said.

A large number of cigarette butts were also found on the ground in a hall, attesting to a regular presence on the site.

The death of Abdelghani Sidali, 15, in Dervallières is "probably not unrelated" to "rivalries between drug networks" considered at the end of last week the prefect of Loire-Atlantique, Didier Martin.
