A pregnant woman in Bulgaria is infected with the new crown, the baby born with its own antibodies

Overseas Network, January 19, according to reports from the Russian Satellite News Agency and Bulgarian National Radio on the 19th, a pregnant woman in Bulgaria gave birth to a baby with antibodies to the new coronavirus.

According to reports, a 28-year-old woman from Pazardzhik, Bulgaria, was hospitalized with fever and cough during pregnancy and was later diagnosed with the new coronavirus.

Because the virus causes placental lesions and slows down the development of the fetus, the doctor decided to give him a Caesarean section.

In the end, the woman gave birth to a baby boy weighing 2.75 kg and 46 cm long.

After testing, it was found that the baby boy had new coronavirus antibodies.

At present, the baby is in good health and will be discharged from the hospital with his mother.

In November 2020, a study conducted in Singapore found that all babies born to five pregnant women who were diagnosed with new coronary pneumonia carried antibodies to the new coronavirus.

Anna Simakova, the chief infectious disease expert of the Ministry of Health of the Primorye Territory of the Russian Federation, said that the direct route of transmission of the new coronavirus from mother to fetus has not been confirmed.

The antibodies present in the mother's body will be passed to the child when the baby is born, and will remain in the child's body for one year.
