The State Duma appreciated the idea of ​​including a new circumstance in the Criminal Code, an aggravating punishment for fraudsters

"Now telephone fraud has become extremely large, and the dynamics indicate that the existing measures are not enough," Gutenev emphasized.

The deputy believes that it is necessary to significantly toughen the responsibility, especially of the "organizers of such a pseudo-business."

The parliamentarian also noted that now the fraudsters are represented not only by employees of banks, insurance companies, but also by law enforcement officers.

According to Gutenev, specific measures must be judged after their analysis.

“But there is no doubt that a significant tightening is necessary,” he concluded.

Earlier, the head of the public movement "For Security" Dmitry Kurdesov proposed to include a new circumstance, aggravating punishment, in the Criminal Code. 

In connection with the frequent cases of telephone and Internet fraud, he asks to add to the Criminal Code the wording “when the guilty person creates a false idea of ​​his official or official position”.
