Northvolt receives an environmental permit for expanded production

On Monday, the Land and Environment Court at Umeå District Court granted Northvolt Ett AB a new environmental permit.

Northvolt now has the opportunity to manufacture more than twice the amount of lithium-ion batteries and more than three times the amount of metal oxides than with the previous condition.

Northvolt has also applied for a permit to recycle lithium-ion batteries, among other things.

And to produce oxygen, nitrogen gas and to divert surface water from the Skellefteälven river.

All counterparties and consultative bodies have been in favor of the application and the court has accepted the company's claims.
