  • Martine Aubry was present on Monday at the opening of one of the two vaccination centers in the city of Lille.

  • The mayor of Lille strongly criticized the government for the low number of doses available.

Not very critical in recent months on the management of the health crisis by the government, Martine Aubry let go, this Monday morning, on the occasion of the opening of a vaccination center in the district of Fives, one of the two centers opened in Lille.

“Let the government tell the truth!

That we do not start again the same story as with the masks or the tests ", urged the mayor of Lille alerting on a" shortage of vaccines "at the time when the vaccination against the Covid-19 is widening to more than 75 years.

Aubry wanted to open the Zénith for vaccination

"My conviction is that we are really in shortage of vaccines" affirmed the socialist mayor, expressing "great concern".

The town hall opened these two vaccination centers, with the respective capacity of 800 and 840 people per week, for vaccination, but was refused to open more, she reported.

"The prefect asked us to organize two centers but no more," said Martine Aubry, who would also like to open the Zenith for vaccination.

"We could vaccinate 1,000 or 2,000 people a day there, but this was refused to us while Lyon and Cannes are doing it", notes the mayor, for whom the problem, "it is the arrival of the doses, the whole subject is the ".

"Do not make us believe that anyone over 75 can register"

In the municipal centers, which operate with administrative staff and doctors and nurses provided by the city, “the real difficulty is that we were full immediately and that we have an extremely small number of doses, so we cannot increase, ”she explains.

"I understand very well that we are giving more doses to areas that are widely infected, but that we are told, that we do not believe that all people over 75 can register when 'today everything is blocked.

It's true in Paris, it's true in Lille and I imagine in many places, ”concludes Marine Aubry.
