Mirow (dpa / mv) - A masked man from Mirow (Mecklenburg Lake District) is said to have stopped traffic on Bundesstraße 198 and later attacked police officers.

The 51-year-old, who wore a kind of carnival mask, and two officers were slightly injured in the incident on Sunday evening in the small town, the police said on Monday.

Witnesses had alerted the police.

The man was wearing a white, full face mask.

When the officers asked him to stop and provide his personal details, he refused and later became aggressive.

He was tied up and his mask was removed.

A kitchen knife and his papers were found in the pockets.

Against the Mirower, who did not comment on the motive, is being investigated, among other things, on suspicion of road traffic hazard.
