Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - After the fatal attack on his ex-brother-in-law, a man from Stuttgart was sentenced to twelve years in prison for manslaughter.

According to the regional court, the 52-year-old had killed his victim with a square piece of wood in a dispute on a leased property in May of last year and buried it on the same evening, as the judge said in his judgment on Monday.

A few days later, the man reported to the police and admitted the act.

The man's divorced wife reported the man missing after he had not picked up their children for care as agreed.

The 52-year-old had shown remorse before the regional court.

The motive remains unclear even after the trial.

The 45-year-old victim is said to have spoken badly about the defendant's family, the perpetrator testified at the trial.

However, there had also been a tough argument between the two friends about car insurance.
