Hamburg (dpa / lno) - Almost all fitness studios in Germany are closed due to corona, but a Hamburg company has found a way to give its customers at least a little training on site.

The fitness studio in Hafencity has set up four small garden tents that are wide open at the front in front of its building and three more on the roof.

There are two training devices available for each customer, with the note “1 household per tent”.

Politicians say yes, you should be creative, and that's what he did, says Nils Kuprat of Prime Time Fitness.

He used the fact that the tents in front of the house are in a non-public area and that outdoor sports are allowed in Hamburg.

He had won his business in court and now had permission from the responsible district office.

A customer who trains on the treadmill thinks it's great that it's possible.

Otherwise you couldn't train for months, she says.

In the other tents are rowing machines, fitness bikes and other machines.

The President of the Employers' Association of German Fitness and Health Systems (DSSV), Birgit Schwarze, confirms that it is possible to do outdoor fitness in Hamburg under the applicable rules.

However, she does not consider the idea to be feasible for most studios.

On the one hand, the temperatures are not very pleasant for customers, and the training equipment is also not designed for outdoor use.

Instead, Schwarze demanded that all fitness studios be allowed to resume operations in compliance with the hygiene concepts.
