January 18, 2021 The number of vaccinations administered in Italy reaches 1,153,501, according to data released by the Ministry of Health, and updated at 22.46 yesterday. In the meantime, vaccination has begun for all those who received the first dose during the Vax Day last December 27th.

Due to the cut in supplies of the Pfizer vaccine, many regions have already announced that in the coming days they will proceed with the administration of the booster doses alone, slowing or temporarily interrupting new vaccinations.

Veneto, Zaia: "even the recalls at risk"

In Veneto "the vaccination campaign is suspended".

This was stated by the president of the Region Luca Zaia, explaining that this week the Region will be able to carry out only the recalls of those who have already received the first dose, thanks to the doses set aside.

"But if next week's supply of even a single vaccine is questioned, I tell Pfizer, we won't be able to get the boosters," Zaia warns.

"It is shameful what is happening ... You cannot give a supply plan that translates into a vaccination plan, which for us means fixed appointments, and then saying that we will cut off our supply by 53%. So it doesn't work. the data we see that there are a group of Regions with zero cuts, a group with moderate cuts and a group in which we are losing more than half ", Zaia attacks, hoping that" at least there is a solidarity distribution of what 'is ", because" it cannot be that some regions have to suspend vaccinations ".

Having said that, "we have not signed contracts with Pfizer, so we are the injured party, but not the legal counterpart ... I hope that at the national level we go down hard and heavy from a legal point of view for a story like this", concludes Zaia .

"We are very angry, we don't know how to protect ourselves but we will".

And "I want to understand if other countries have had an impact equal to ours, I want to know if supplies have also been cut to Germany, France, Spain and the United States".

Friuli Venezia Giulia: only recalls from Tuesday

"From Tuesday 19 January the vaccination plan will continue only for those who plan to administer the second dose, while the vaccinations of those who undergo for the first time will be postponed until it will be a guarantee on the delivery flows of vaccines ".

This was announced by the deputy governor with responsibility for Health Riccardo Riccardi, regarding the vaccination plan of the Fvg and the news concerning the slowdown in supplies.

"From today - Riccardi explains - the vaccination continues as scheduled, while those who are on the agenda for the first administration since Tuesday, about three thousand people belonging to the categories of the first priorities, will be contacted to establish a new date as soon as it is clear to us the framework from Rome. The agendas will be reopened for new requests from February ".

In the meantime, the meetings of the control room follow one another to organize the second phase.

"We are also working for the vaccination of people over eighty and people with disabilities, which - Riccardi reiterates - we consider priority categories: the lines with the health directions are drawn, but it is clear that now every working hypothesis is conditioned by the vaccine delivery flows," not only as regards the new phase but also for the closure of the first ".

Tuscany: first administrations stopped until Thursday

Pfizer cuts the delivery of doses and the vaccination campaign in Tuscany slows down.

From today until Thursday, the first administrations of vaccines stop to allow those who have already had them to complete the immunization with the booster.

"The agendas for the first inoculations - it is specified in the Region - will be reopened as soon as we are certain of new supplies.

" The decision of the Tuscan healthcare system to cancel the reservations comes following Pfizer's announcement of a drop in production due to modernization of the plants.

"It is something indifferent to the powers of the region and even to those of the state", commented the president of the region Eugenio Giani who adds: "I put myself in the shoes, or rather I sympathize, with Commissioner Arcuri".

In Tuscany today only 63% of the scheduled doses will arrive and priority will be given to those who have to finish the vaccination cycle.

With the 6,900 doses of the canceled reservations, the 12,000 spare outfits and this fourth reduced supply, the Region will be able to ensure the second and last administration for the 70,000 people already vaccinated.

Sardinia: stop to new vaccinations

Stop to all new vaccinations in Sardinia, from today we proceed only with the boosters, with the hope that all the doses arrive in time to be able to guarantee it to all the Sardinians already vaccinated in the first phase.

The Pfizer cut, which affects Sardinia with a 50% cut, does not allow to continue with the coronavirus vaccination plan.

The doses received by the island have so far been 33 thousand and just over 23 thousand those administered.

In addition to the 7 thousand missed doses of Pfizer vaccine, today the 1000 expectations from Moderna did not arrive.

The situation is therefore very delicate, and the Region is currently evaluating every possible action to guarantee the Sardinians vaccination, and in particular the recalls, within the time and in the manner provided.

Bologna: first vaccinations postponed

Today in Bologna the recalls of the anti-Covid vaccine begin.

The first 225 health workers vaccinated on the occasion of the 'Vaccine day' of last December 27, plus the 50 people of Cra Lercaro, were summoned today.

The second administrations will resume on Thursday for those who were vaccinated on 31 December, 472 people in total, and will continue on a daily basis from Saturday 23 January.

In total there are 2,891 second doses that will be administered during this week, until Sunday 24 January.

Instead, the first vaccinations for about 1,400 people already booked in these days have been postponed to a later date, due to the delay in the supply of vaccines by Pfizer, informed with a text message by the Ausl.

Between today and tomorrow, 27,000 doses will be delivered in the region, half of those planned.

As for Bologna, in particular, 4,680 doses will be delivered tomorrow, out of an expected total of 9,360 vaccines.

In order not to waste a small amount of vials that have already been thawed and can no longer be stored, today only 90 health professionals, already booked, will receive the first dose of vaccine at the Fair.

Another 170, for the same reason, will be vaccinated for the first time at the Rizzoli vaccine point.

Sicily, the recalls began

The first administrations of the booster of the Pfizer-Biontech anti-Covid vaccine to the health workers of the various Covid sections of the Cannizzaro hospital in Catania were carried out this morning.

These are doctors and nurses who had received the first dose in Palermo on December 28, at the beginning of the three days that the Department of Health had reserved for health companies.

"The vaccination was carried out in compliance with the indications of the councilor for Health Ruggero Razza and will continue regularly, in consideration of the availability of Pfizer-Biontech doses in the pharmacy which guarantees coverage of the second administration even in the face of a reduced supply", explain from 'Hospital.

Over the next two days, the campaign will affect the other operators vaccinated in Palermo, including doctors and nurses from the emergency room and Covid sections, while on the 21st the administration of the booster will begin to those who have received the first dose in the company starting from 31 December.

Puglia: new administrations slow down

The 11 Apulian hospital hubs received the third tranche of Pfizer anti Covid vaccines this morning.

As announced, 18,720 were delivered in Puglia instead of the 30,420 of the original plan.

A cut of 38.4%.

The 11,770 doses in less will force the vaccination points to slow down the new administrations to be sure of being able to guarantee the boosters, started yesterday, of those who have already been vaccinated within 21 days.
