Before the negotiations between the federal and state governments, the Corona Expert Council NRW joins the discussion with admonishing words.
The committee appointed by Prime Minister and new CDU boss Armin Laschet comprises twelve interdisciplinary experts, including the virologist Hendrick Streeck, economist Michael Hüther and the sociologist Armin Nassehi.
In its statement on how to deal with the pandemic, the expert group warns against policies that run the risk of "no longer reaching and convincing the population as a whole". Extremes are becoming ever more evident in society, it says: "Corona deniers at one end, lockdown fanatics at the other end".
