After the escapes: The highest level of security at the SiS home in Kalix

In addition to Kalix, the youth home Tysslinge in Södertälje will also have the new level of security.

Those homes must be able to handle young people who are judged to have the highest risks regarding deviations as well as threats and violence.

- Tysslinge and Johannisberg have, after assessment, proved to have good conditions to become institutions of the highest security level, says SiS Director General Elisabet Åbjörnsson Hollmark, in a press release.

Should make escape attempts more difficult

Institutions with the highest security are equipped both technically and physically so that it should be extra difficult to release, deviate or to smuggle in something via throw-ins, shipments or deliveries.

The safety awareness of employees must be high when it comes to risk assessments, competence, routines, working methods and treatment.

Divides LVU and LSU young people

At the same time, it is decided to divide LSU and LVU departments throughout SiS.

This means that Råby ungdomshem, Fagareds ungdomshem, Bärby ungdomshem, Sundbo ungdomshem, Johannisbergs ungdomshem and Tysslinge ungdomshem will have pure LSU departments.
