  • Montpellier's Nacer Ghemid has created a collection of colorful socks that can be worn perfectly: Cruel Dilemme.

  • “I especially didn't want people to say 'Ah, but you got the wrong socks!', But rather 'Ah, that's stylish!'

    », Confides the Montpellier entrepreneur.

  • The socks are made in a French workshop in Limousin.

Tired of ransacking your closets every morning to get your hands on the same two socks?

Nacer Ghemid has a solution for you.

This Montpellier, former manager of a ready-to-wear boutique, launched Cruel Dilemme, a brand of socks… which can perfectly be worn mismatched.

"The sock is really my favorite accessory," says Nacer Ghemid, who created his company after the economic closure of his store, due to the crisis.

I wanted to create an accessory that is really recognizable at first glance, I wanted to make it a strong asset of the look.

I especially didn't want people to say “Ah, but you got the wrong socks!”, But rather “Ah, that's stylish!”

Patterns and colors

Thanks to a skilful study of patterns and colors, the 36-year-old entrepreneur has concocted a collection of ankle socks that will go perfectly together.

With, always, visual consistency.

Moreover, when purchasing, the socks of the same pair, if they are of the same color, are already different: a cat and a dog, a toucan and a parrot… “Harmony comes from orange. because the socks are orange on the toe and at the top of each foot, ”notes the designer.

But wearing mismatched socks is not (only?) A sign of laziness.

It's also a question of style.

The singer Vianney appears for example, regularly, with socks of different colors.

"It has become more and more trendy to mismatch socks, but not only that, some even do it with sneakers," continues the Montpellier entrepreneur.

No doubt we are all rebellious at heart, and we want to assert ourselves.

Unfortunately, the first thing we see about us is our outfit.

So, we want to break the codes.

Made in Limousin

And then, socks, notes Nacer Ghemid, have always been the accessory that makes them stand out, even for those who wear a suit or a three-piece suit.

There are 30 different pairs, and they are unisex.

For now, they are only on sale (15 euros per pair) on the brand's online store.

And to make them, Nacer Ghemid bet on made in France: his socks are knitted in the workshop of the Broussaud family, installed since 1938 in a village in Limousin.

"They have excellent know-how, which is recognized," continues the Montpellier.

French socks are the best socks in the world.
