Robot fish can synchronize the movements in a shoal without anyone controlling them.

The inspiration comes from nature where fish in shoals follow each other without any leader.

Individual fish make decisions based on what their neighbor does.

In the same way, the robot fishermen follow one another.

Equipped with a camera, they discover their friends who are all dressed in LED lights.

The technology developed by researchers at Harvard University can be used to monitor the environment where neither GPS nor wifi signals work to control the robot, as well as in hard-to-reach waters, such as coral reefs.
