The King Abdulaziz Port in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stated - today, Sunday, in a tweet through its official account on the Twitter site - that commercial traffic between the Kingdom and the State of Qatar has resumed, with the arrival of 27 containers from Hamad Port to King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.

This comes after the opening of the borders between the two countries, while Saudi Airlines and Qatar Airways restarted their flights between the two countries on Monday.

The outcomes of the Gulf summit, which was held in the Saudi city of Al-Ula on the fifth of this month, confirmed the end of the crisis that began in June 2017, and led to Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severing their political and diplomatic relations and closing the borders and airspace with Qatar.

Yesterday, Saturday, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan announced that his country would open its embassy in the Qatari capital within days.

He said in a press conference in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, that "our embassy in Doha will be opened after completing the necessary procedures within days," adding, "Saudi Arabia will restore full diplomatic relations with Qatar."

He stressed that the statement of the Al-Ula summit - which was held on January 5 in Saudi Arabia, during which it was agreed on the Gulf reconciliation - will positively reflect on the role of the Cooperation Council.
