Magdeburg (AP) - The police stopped a drunken ghost driver on Autobahn 2 (Berlin-Hanover) on Sunday night near Magdeburg.
The man was on the wrong lane in a van towards Hanover at around 2.30 a.m.
He ignored a patrol car and turned around on the highway when he noticed that he was driving in the wrong direction, the police announced.
The officers stopped the vehicle.
A breath alcohol test gave the driver a value of 2.21 per thousand.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against the 37-year-old.
The vehicle was secured.
