Three days before the official inauguration of Joe Biden, Washington is barricaded.

Beyond the federal capital, law enforcement agencies across the country are on the verge of war.

Far-right circles and supporters of Donald Trump are calling for marching on Capitol Hill or taking up arms all over the country.

Under what conditions will Joe Biden's nomination, known as “inauguration day” take place on Wednesday?

The next three days will be spent under high tension around the Capitol of each of the American states, where exceptional measures have been taken.

Thus, bins, letter boxes and newspaper distributors were systematically dismantled to avoid hidden bombs.

Even if the Secret Service has been working for more than a year on the security of the inauguration, no one really knows this Sunday how events can turn.

In Washington, fences, barbed wire and watchtowers were deployed.

The National Guard has mobilized 20,000 men, more than the total troops currently stationed in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria.

Mayor Muriel Bowser has warned that the city will be virtually cut off from the world until Wednesday.

She invited the population to follow the nomination on television, instead of going to the outskirts of the White House and the Capitol.

Rush of pro-Trump on encrypted messaging

Because the Proud Boys and the Million Militia March mobilized via the social networks Telegram and Signal, both encrypted, therefore impossible to follow for the police.

The latter have seen, powerless, more than 25 million new accounts created in a week.

Symbol of this extreme tension, a heavily armed man was arrested Friday evening near the Capitol, with a handgun on him and 500 rounds of ammunition.

The man was eventually released.

It was actually a private security guard who did not have the correct accreditation for the investiture ceremony on January 20.

However, he is no longer allowed to return to Washington.
