The entry into force of the general curfew at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening prompts many French people to wonder what is possible to do after the fateful hour.

While picking up your children or going to the pharmacy is still allowed, it is no longer allowed to go shopping.

More than 21,000 new cases of coronavirus were detected on Saturday and the curves of the epidemic are still not lowering in France.

This is what prompted the government to opt this week for a general curfew at 6 p.m., applied since Saturday evening.

As for confinement and, a fortiori, the curfew at 8 p.m., some exemptions are of course possible, to be entered in the exit certificates available in the #TousAntiCovid application or on plain paper.

Jogging prohibited, medical consultation permitted

Even after 6 p.m., when leaving work, it is of course possible to pick up your children, at the nanny's, at the nursery or after school.

All you have to do is fill in the "compelling family reason" box.

On the other hand, it is not possible to go to a supermarket afterwards, because all shops must close at 6 p.m.

Jogging and walking are also not allowed.

Once the children are home, outdoor activities are prohibited.

As far as work is concerned, if you have to return home after 6 p.m., your employer must provide you with a special and personalized certificate.

For any other travel after the curfew (taking your dog out, visiting a sick relative, going to the pharmacy or to the doctor), a box is reserved in the government certificate.

Finally, note that travel by train or plane remains authorized.

Your ticket serves as proof if you have to leave between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.
