For just over a week now, Camilla Asp has been acting Director General of MSB, the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.
"Did not hesitate"
She had to shoulder the role after Dan Eliasson's acclaimed departure, which came after he received massive criticism for flying to the Canary Islands over the New Year.
- I did not hesitate, even though the request came a little hastily.
For me, the most important thing now is to create peace of mind for my employees, and to prioritize the work with the pandemic, she says.
Would love to visit Blekinge
Camilla Asp grew up in Sölvesborg, where she lived until she graduated from high school.
She still has a strong relationship with the city.
- I really like coming back to Blekinge and have often thought about what a beautiful end of the country it is, she says.
