Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week is falling in Brandenburg.

It was around 235 on Saturday, as the Ministry of Health in Potsdam announced.

Last Monday the value was just under 300 and a week ago 278. The goal of the federal and state governments, however, is to bring the so-called 7-day incidence below 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.

Within one day, 916 new confirmed infections were added in Brandenburg.

A week earlier, there were 1173 new cases.

The Spree-Neisse district reported the most additional infections with 102. The number of deaths in connection with Covid 19 disease remained at a high level at 48 on Saturday.

As of December 27, 37,993 people in the country have received a vaccination against the coronavirus.

That is a plus of 4195, reported the ministry.

The vaccinations had started slowly, then Brandenburg caught up in comparison.

The corona focus remains the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district, which reported almost 408 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week.

Twelve districts and urban districts are still above a value of 200. Then tourist excursions and sports within a radius of 15 kilometers from the district boundary and meetings are prohibited.
