“At 19:02 the first power unit of the BelNPP was disconnected from the network after the generator protection system was triggered,” the statement says.
According to the ministry, the protection system worked during the experimental-industrial operation of the first power unit, within which systems and equipment are being tested.
It is specified that the background radiation in the area of the NPP is within the normal range.
On January 13, the press service of the Ministry of Energy reported that the first power unit of the Belarusian NPP was brought to 100% capacity.
