According to him, in recent years, the trajectory of Russian-American relations "is confidently going down, no matter who is at the head of the White House."

He recalled that the administration of the current US President Donald Trump systematically intensified the systemic confrontation with Russia and continued to pursue a sanctions policy, wishing, among other things, to oust the Russian side from the energy markets.

Medvedev noted that this happened against the background of the fact that Trump constantly spoke about the desire to "get along with Russia."

Medvedev also added that President-elect of the United States Joe Biden "has not yet said anything positive about Russia."

According to Medvedev, Biden's rhetoric has always been "openly unfriendly, harsh, even aggressive."

“Russia, however, is ready to work with any US president, ready to restore cooperation in various fields.

However, one can hardly expect reciprocal steps from the new American administration.

In the coming years, our relations are likely to remain extremely cold, ”he said.

At the same time, Medvedev said that Russia now does not expect anything from the United States, except for the continuation of a tough anti-Russian policy.

Medvedev also noted that the US elections could trigger very significant changes in world economic development and have a serious impact on the global security system.
