Al-Burhan, who is the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, said that the redeployment of the Sudanese army on the border with Ethiopia in eastern Sudan came with a full Sudanese will and after full coordination with the executive body in the state.

Al-Burhan denied the existence of any party inciting Sudan to attack Ethiopia, and said that Khartoum does not want a war with it.

On Saturday evening, Al-Burhan and Hamdok inaugurated the "private sector initiative to support the armed forces," in the presence of a number of members of the Sovereignty Council, ministers, army and police officers and businessmen.

During the event, Hamdok affirmed "the unlimited support for the executive apparatus and its support for the armed forces to extend their control over all Sudanese territories."

Hamdok called for creating a development model in the Fashaqa region in eastern Sudan, and making it an area with an investment advantage.

The spokesman for the Sovereignty Council in Sudan, Muhammad al-Faki Suleiman, confirmed on Friday that the army would not withdraw from the areas that it had "redeployed" and would protect them, adding that the area of ​​Al-Fashaqa is not in dispute, but rather it is "100% Sudanese."

Suleiman said in a press conference that there is no declaration of war on Ethiopia, and he called on the Ethiopian forces to withdraw from two areas of the Sudanese border, Qatran and Khawr Omar, and said that if Sudan wanted to retrieve them by force, he would have done, but he does not want escalation, according to his statement.
