Founded in 1953, the group now has 2,600 employees and 32 locations around the world.

Benjamin de Rothschild had been at the head of the group since 1997 and the death of his father, Edmond de Rothschild, husband of Baroness Nadine de Rothschild, who became known for his defense of good manners and good manners.

Passionate about sailing, Benjamin de Rothschild was also known for having created in 2000 the "Gitana Team", an offshore racing team which won victories in the Route du Rhum, the English Transat, the Rolex Fastnet Race, the Transat Jacques Vabre , "or even during the Orma Grand Prix or the transatlantic races where he embarked with his teams," said the Gitana Team in a press release.
