The Austrian Manuel Feller won his first World Cup victory on Saturday by winning the slalom at Flachau (Austria), ahead of Frenchman Clément Noël and his compatriot Marco Schwarz.

At the end of a second round disputed under heavy snow, Feller beat Noël 43 / 100th and Schwarz by 70 / 100th.

Thanks to his victory, he took the lead in the World Cup slalom standings, one point ahead of Schwarz.

For Christmas, 2nd place is a disappointment, even if it is his best result of the season in slalom.

As in Zagreb and Adelboden, he finished the first heat in the lead before relinquishing control in the second.

Leader of the general classification, Alexis Pinturault made a good operation by finishing 9th.

In the absence of his first two pursuers Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Marco Odermatt, who did not line up on the slaloms, the Frenchman increased his advantage to 158 units over the Norwegian.

Victor Muffat-Jeandet finished 13th.

A second slalom is scheduled for Sunday in Flachau.
