Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Within one day, the number of corona infections in Baden-Württemberg rose by a further 1873 cases.

This means that a total of 273 834 infections have been registered in the southwest since the beginning of the pandemic, as the State Health Office announced on Saturday (as of 4:00 p.m.).

The case numbers therefore remain at an increased level.

The number of people who died with or from the coronavirus rose by 39 to a total of 6,088. 228,775 previously infected people are considered recovered.

The number of new infections within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants (seven-day incidence) fell slightly to 120.4. The estimated seven-day R-value is 0.97. If the value is below 1 for a longer period of time, the infection rate subsides. Furthermore, all 44 urban and rural districts in the southwest are above the seven-day incidence value of 50 - from this value a municipality is considered a risk area.
