“Today, President Donald Trump instructed agencies and departments to review applicable laws, regulations and programs with the aim of proposing regulatory and policy changes, including possible executive measures aimed at minimizing the procurement of goods and services from the People's Republic of China (PRC),” says in a statement by Assistant Head of State for National Security Robert O'Brien.

According to him, the American side must take measures to ensure the security of US interests.

He noted that action is required to reduce the risk of China's technical and undercover espionage.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the United States is imposing visa restrictions against the leaders of Chinese state-owned companies and officials of the Chinese Communist Party and the People's Liberation Army of China in connection with the situation in the South China Sea.
