Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - The number of voluntary self-disclosures by tax evaders fell to a minimum in Hesse in 2020.

The Ministry of Finance announced at the request of the German Press Agency in Wiesbaden that the responsible bodies had received some voluntary reports.

In the course of further examinations, however, it predominantly emerged that the facts were different.

According to the ministry, the bottom line was a voluntary disclosure in 2020. The total of the provisional additional income for the country from the repayment in connection with Swiss capital income was just under 1.4 million euros.

After the rules for voluntary self-disclosures that were exempt from punishment had become stricter at the beginning of 2015, the number of reports received has steadily decreased nationwide.

In 2019, 19 tax evaders had reported to the tax offices in Hesse.

Almost 1.37 million euros was the sum of the provisional additional income for the country from the repayments.

In the record year of 2014, 3495 tax evaders reported themselves in Hesse with a voluntary report.

The tax office had collected around 220 million euros from them.

According to the Ministry of Finance, a total of 12 130 voluntary disclosures have been received by the responsible bodies in Hesse since 2010.

The total of the provisional additional taxes totaled more than 938 million euros.
