The crime classification includes aggravated rape, aggravated exploitation of children for sexual posing and aggravated unlawful coercion.

The investigation began in October 2019 when one of the girls reported the man after talking to a friend.

During the attack in April 2020, the 42-year-old was arrested and has since been detained.

- There are more girls in the seized material who are not identified.

We have spent a lot of time on the identification to get the girls' stories.

One of the difficulties in this type of investigation is to succeed in finding out who the plaintiffs are, says Eva Johnsson in a press release.

Traumatizing

A doctoral student from the Department of Psychology in Gothenburg has issued an expert opinion, in which she writes, among other things, that abuse on the internet should be seen as potentially traumatic events with the risk of creating great suffering for the victim:

“The fact that the abuse takes place over the internet can mean that the child is constantly contactable by the perpetrator, regardless of place or time of day.

The constant digital connection makes it difficult to close the connection, especially for children and young people who do not make a clear distinction between life on and off the internet.

This means that the abuse can take place at home in the bedroom, in the bathroom, at school, on the bus - places where the child should actually feel safe. ”
